Cooley Distillery is continuing to show improved trading, with pre tax profits last year up 60 per cent to £344,000, while sales rose to £5.4 million from £5.1 million. The chairman, Dr John Teeling, said trading in the current year was well up on last year, with sales up over 30 per cent. Cooley's growth in the domestic market has been inhibited by distribution difficulties. It is now distributing its products through independent wholesalers and cash and carrys.
