Computerlinks, the Neuer Markt-listed company that is 53 per cent-owned by Mr Pierce Casey's Fayrewood group, has bought Alphanet, a Swiss company involved in access technology and which is the largest distributor in Switzerland of Lucent access products.

Alphanet is expected to have sales in the current year of £1.76 million sterling and pre-tax profits over £176,000 sterling. Price details of the deal have not been disclosed, but part of the consideration involves the issue of 26,250 ComputerLinks shares worth €1.21 million to Alphanet's owners.
