Up to 800 new jobs could be created in Limerick by a telecommunications and software development company, it emerged yesterday .

At the official opening of Martin Dawes Systems and Telecommunications at the National Technological Park in Plassey, 285 new jobs were announced by company managing director, Mr David Goldie. Of these, 100 will be employed in Martin Dawes Systems and the remainder in Martin Dawes Telecommunications Customer Service Help Desk.

Mr Goldie outlined plans to increase the number employed by 500 over the next three to five years.
