BOARD members at CIE will discuss a consultant's report tomorrow which is understood to recommend widespread cost cutting at most of its divisions.

An earlier report prepared by consultant Mr Bernard Somers, recommended that the group seek savings of £6 million at Bus Eireann.

Ahead of the meeting however, the CIE chairman, Mr Brian Joyce, has summoned worker director Mr Michael Faherty to explain why he made parts of the confidential report available to staff.

Mr Faherty, it is claimed, photocopied parts of a confidential report on Bus Eireann and pinned it to staff notice boards.
