A spokesman for CIE has described as "without substance" a claim by the Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association, ISME, that CIE is demanding access to its suppliers audited accounts.

The association said the company had suggested that contract renewal was dependent on suppliers making their books available so CIE experts could advise on cost savings.
