THE board of CIE is meeting again this morning to discuss cost cutting and job losses at Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann

THE board of CIE is meeting again this morning to discuss cost cutting and job losses at Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann. Today's meeting follows a four-hour meeting yesterday of the 12-person board which discussed proposals for reducing costs at Irish Rail. The savings were recommended by consultant Mr Leslie Buckley in a report for the board. Today's meeting will consider recommendations by consultant Mr Bernard Sommers for cost savings of about £6 million at Bus Eireann.
