Sales at Northern Ireland motor dealers Charles Hurst rose 9.5 per cent in the 15 months to end-December compared with 2 per cent growth for the Northern Ireland car market as a whole. At Lookers, financial results for the period detail profits of £6.4 million sterling (€10.7 million) earned on £652 million (€1.1 billion) sales compared with 1997-98 profits of £5.34 million on £584 million turnover.
