Carbury Mushrooms has confirmed that it is interested in acquiring a major British mushroom supplier, Chesswood. But managing director, Mr Cahal MacCanna, said a possible deal with the company's owners, RHM, which is, in turn, owned by the Tompkins Group, was far from completion. Carbury Mushrooms, based in Carbury, Co Kildare, is one of the top three mushroom suppliers, in the Republic. Carbury, which is wholly export based, also has production facilities in England.
