A CO Donegal car dealer was granted an interim injunction in the High Court yesterday preventing Woodchester Bank from selling second hand cars it had taken from his garage.

Mr Chris Loughlin, of Lettermackabard, Co Donegal, also won an injunction restraining Motor Distributors Ltd from terminating a contract with him to sell Audi and Volkswagen cars in Co Donegal.

The court heard that Mr Loughlin's company had got into financial difficulties last May and had missed a repayment to Woodchester Bank, to which he owed £200,000.

During a meeting on July 9th he agreed to hand over cars worth £30,000 as a goodwill gesture. But on August 15th, after a number of meetings, the bank said it was calling in all funds owed, the court was told.
