The future of the Braun plant in Carlow which makes personal care appliances plant looks more secure, following an announcement by its parent company Gillette last night.

Gillette, the world's leading maker of razors and shaving systems, said it had decided to keep its Braun household product division after all.

Earlier this year, Gillette announced that it was reviewing its operations. IDA Ireland executives then had discussions with Gillette executives regarding the future of the Braun plant which employs approximately 1,000 people in Carlow.
