ROVIO, THE Finnish software developer behind the Angry Birds series of mobile games, has raised $42 million in a venture capital funding round led by Accel Partners and Atomico Ventures, the venture capital firm created by Skype co-founder Niklas Zennström.

Rovio yesterday released an Irish-themed version of Angry Birds for St Patrick’s Day.
