Irish clinical products company Trinity Biotech has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to sell its test product for detecting peptic ulcer disease on the US market.

The company's Uni-Gold H Pylori test enables the rapid assessment of patients presenting the symptoms of gastric or duodenal ulcers.

Trinity said the categorisation of the test to waived status ensures it can be sold to virtually all physicians' offices in the US.
