A plan to build Belfast's biggest cinema has been disclosed by the Dublin-based company, Omniplex Holdings. The company, which is part of the Ward Anderson Group, is understood to be planning to build a £7 million 18-screen multiplex in south Belfast, at an unspecified location. About 50 jobs are expected to be created, according to reports.

The company began its first incursion into the North earlier this year when it began construction of a 14-screen cinema in Lisburn, Co Antrim, due to open on October 10th.
