A "STAR" Barings Bank boss, accused of incompetence following the Nick Leeson disaster, is still demanding a £500,000 sterling performance bonus, an industrial tribunal heard yesterday.

Bank chiefs operated a profit related bonus scheme for high flying staff but the day after they allegedly promised Ms Mary Walz half a million pounds, the Leeson affair hit them, the London tribunal heard.
