THE Bangor firm, Muttster Simms Engineering, is planning to invest Pounds 1.3 million in the development of its range of marine pumps in a project which will provide 14 jobs over the next three years.

The investment is being made by the firm's new owners, the Glasgow firm, Clyde Shipping, backed by the venture capital company 3i.

The aim is to increase its sales outside Northern Ireland.

The managing director, Dr Alan Lennon, said the investment would allow the company to develop overseas sales while continuing to reduce costs
