The Taoiseach said he would be "broadly favourable" to any proposal for the EU to sub vent compensation measures for British farmers and restore confidence in European beef. Mr Bruton told opposition TDs at Question Time that so far no request had come from Britain, but if the issue was raised at the Turin Inter Governmental Conference this weekend "we will be obviously willing to do anything that is reasonable".
