BANK of Ireland and accountants Price Waterhouse have produced a reference manual for Irish corporate treasurers. The Corporate Treasury Manual covers a wide range of issues including how to identify risks, how to set treasury policy, which derivative product to use and when, as well as how to structure effective internal controls.

Cash and funding options available to the corporate treasurer are examined. The manual sets out the basic economic, legal, tax and accounting background against which corporate treasurers carry out their day to day activities.

Welcoming the publication yesterday, the Minister for Enterprise and Employment, Mr Bruton, said he was pleased to see "two prestigious companies combining their expertise to demystify what, for many of us, appears to be a very complicated business".
