The Republic is the toughest of 45 markets in which clothing retailer Aurora is operating, the company’s new chief executive said yesterday.

Mike Shearwood said the firm, which operates under the Karen Millen, Coast, Warehouse and Oasis brands, was nonetheless committed to its Irish business.

"It's no surprise that the Irish market is tough," Mr Shearwood told The Irish Timesafter his appointment was announced.
