Hamilton Osborne King is predicting a resurgence of interest in fine arts and antiques which have been shunned by many young investors. HOK says the phase of modernism usually passes with the inevitable accumulations of life and inheritances from parents and relatives.

The fact that a Regency side cabinet will inevitably double in value from time to time, whereas a more expensive set of fashionably designed-out shelves will not, is still a factor worth considering. HOK suggests the antique business is at a crossroads and people will once again begin to appreciate and buy quality works of art as investments and as something desirable to own.
