APPLE Computer in California last night reported losses of $120 million (£73 million) in its recently ended quarter, a result described by the company as "very disappointing". Apple employs 1,500 at its plant in Cork. The loss for the quarter ending December 27th compared with a profit of $25 million earned in the three months to September and with a $69 million loss in the same period a year earlier.
