AMINEX has announced good flow rates from the oil/gas well off the Tunisian coast in which it has a 26.3 per cent stake. The El Biban concession in the Gulf of Gabes tested 5,500 barrels of oil and 5.2 million cubic feet of gas a day. The drilling involved a re entry of the old well and its commerciality was known. However, the results are better than expected and the proven reserves could now be almost double the 400,000 barrels estimate. Production is expected to commence in 1997.
