AIB Mortgages Direct is launching WAP-based mortgages for Irish customers. It will include mortgage approval in principle, mortgage quotations, AIB mortgage rates and those of its competitors. AIB said market research in Britain suggested the average home buyer took approximately 10 minutes to make their house-purchase decision when visiting a property. Its plan is that a buyer can use that 10 minutes to call up a quotation and check if the amount being sought will be covered by AIB.
