Glanbia senior manager Brian Phelan is to join the food group’s board next month. Mr Phelan is the company’s human resources and operations development director.

Glanbia announced that he would join the board as executive director with responsibility for group development from January 1st. Mr Phelan is a chartered accountant and joined the group in 1993 from KPMG.

For the past eight years his role has had responsibility for human resources, group business services and Glanbia cheese and nutricima joint ventures.

Group managing director John Moloney has welcomed the appointment.
