THE Irish Graphic Design Business Association (GDBA) has said that it is "very disappointed" that the contract for Aer Lingus's new corporate image has, like other major recent projects such as the corporate re designs by Irish Life and AIB, been exported.

The association said the identities of the organisations in question "symbolise Ireland at home, and around the world" and allowing them to go abroad undermined the credibility of the Irish design industry. Aer Lingus has said that it choose Luxon Carra because the company specialised in work for aircraft companies.
