Aer Lingus yesterday reported a 1.9 per cent increase in passenger traffic in October on the back of several new routes and an expansion of its fleet of aircraft.

The airline carried 904,000 passengers last month, 3.8 per cent more than the 871,000 reported for the same period last year, the company said in a Regulatory News Service statement.
