Chartered accountants enjoyed average salary increases of 13 per cent in the last year, according to the latest survey of accountants' pay.
The Leinster Society of Chartered Accountants' (LSCA) ninth annual salary survey showed that a typical chartered accountant earns £51,000 a year, up from £45,000 in 1997.
