In a strongly worded statement the board of ACC Bank has expressed its "full confidence" in its chief executive, Mr John McCloskey. As the bank prepares to report its 1997 results, the statement from the board yesterday followed a weekend report that Mr McCloskey was under pressure to step down from his position because of the dissatisfaction of some senior managers at the bank. The speculation was described as "unfounded".
