MISSILE Systems (SMS) has signed a £12.5 million deal for initial production work on the Hellfire system for the new UK Apache Helicopter programme. The Belfast company will share the £25 million contract with the French missile manufacturer, Thomson CSF, the joint owner of SMS. The Hellfire Two and Longbow Hellfire anti armour missiles for the Apache will be manufactured, integrated, and tested by SMS in Belfast.
